Breathing is really important for making you sound and feel confident when you are in front of an audience. The first thing you should think about is the placement of your breath. A common mistake that people make when they are nervous is to start breathing up into the chest. This increases the adrenaline flowing around your system and you enter into ‘fight or flight mode’. The best way to overcome your nerves is low breathing. Use your diaphragm by relaxing your stomach muscles and allow your breath to drop in and fill your lungs. Use your ribs and the intercostal muscles too, like you’re filling up a barrel! The simple breathing exercise I s...

If you can do this slowly, it is also good to take only one breath during competition to not waste time breathing at full speed. The next exercise is 4 x 25s. I took two breathes for each 25. The interesting part though is to control your breathing during the rest. I rested for only 3 breaths. After the third breath I went on to do the next 25 with only two breathes. If you are not there yet. You can try a variation of this with more breaths. Something like 4 breaths for each 25 and 5 or 6 breaths while resting. These exercises will train you to feel more comfortable with the urge to breathe. While this is good for training it can also be dangerous for your health. Shallow water blackout is most common among physically fit swimmers, spear fishermen and free divers. Watch more How to Sing: Singing Lessons for Beginners videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/476799-Master-Your-Breath-in-10-Minutes-a-Day-Vocal-Lessons Hi I'm Cari Cole. I'm a celebrity vocal coach and artist development expert. And I help artist find their voice, craft their music, and create successful music careers. I've worked with Donald Fagen from Steely Dan, Courtney Love from Hole, I've worked with the band Journey. I'm going to teach you how to be a better singer and performer Hey, guys, I'm going to give you an exercise right now to master your breath in just ten minutes a day. Singing really has so much to do with the power of the breath. It's about controlling the breath. It's not about pushing the air out; it's about letting the air ring inside the mouth, and inside the resonating cavities. So getting control of the breath makes a huge difference. How you're going to do that, I'm going to teach you this breathing exercise, and you can do it in the morning for five minutes, and in the evening for five minutes before you go to bed. So this exercise has to do with slowing the breath down in order to get control of it. I want you to sit in a comfortable chair. You can also lie down and do this exercise. If you're lying down, put your knees up and your feet flat on the floor. If you are sitting, just sit comfortably, put one hand on your belly and you can also put one hand on your ribcage. I'm going to have you blow the air out, and then you are going to inhale for ten counts. You're going to inhale slowly like this: One-two-three-four-five-six-seven-eight-nine-ten. And as you do that, if you notice, the middle of my body.my stomach and my ribcage are slowly expanding, slowly expanding. So you don't want to fill too quickly. You want to slowly expand like you're blowing up a balloon inside your body. And then you're going to exhale with a hiss Ssssss -- for 15 counts. So your goal is to be able to do do ten of these back-to-back comfortably. And when you can do that, you're on your way to mastering your breath. So let's give it a try. So, hand on your ribcage, hand on your belly; you can be sitting or lying on the floor, blowing the air out gently. Inhaling slowly: one-two-three-four-five-six-seven-eight-nine-ten, and exhaling: Ssssssssssssssss six-seven-eight-nine-ten. Keep going 11-12-13-14-15 and relax. Okay, let's try that again, and what I want you to do this time, is when you wrap that breath around and you come to that next inhale, I don't want you to gasp the air in. Because some of you will really feel like you're out of breath at 15 counts, but the goal of this exercise is to smooth it all out. So if you are pushing that air out too quickly on that exhale, you're going to feel like you want to gasp the air in, but that's not how to work the exercise. How to work the exercise is to actually don't push out so much air. Be comfortably exhaled so that you can inhale more easily. So when you come around to that inhale, I want you to take that inhale in very slow. That's how you start to control the breath. So the way to do this exercise is to do it ten repetitions in a row. And I recommend doing it in the morning, when you first wake up. It energizes your body and gets you kind of focused. And at the same time, your are mastering your breath and controlling your breath. And I also recommend it at the end of the day, before you go to bed, a nice way to drift off to sleep.

Here are 4 simple breathing exercises that can truly energise you. . This is one of the special ways that you can actually get more energy by doing less than you normally do. Natural breathing is the usually the best breath for most people to practice during most exercise. In that way you can concentrate on doing your exercise without having to worry about breathing. If, however, you are doing something very simple and relaxing such as lying down or sitting, then you can take the time to do specific breathing exercises. Essentially, there are two types of breathing exercises. One type of breathing exercise, which is commonly taught in many physical training activities including many modern yoga classes, can benefit your physical body by improving the strength and flexibility of your muscles of breathing. Another type of breathing exercise that I wish to share with you here is breathing for increasing energy. This type of breathing is designed to increase the amount of oxygen entering your cells. In these four breathing exercises the trick is to breathe as little as you comfortably can in order to build up carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide has the important role in your body of being able to signal the red blood cells to give the oxgen they carry to your body cells. If there is not enough carbon dioxide in your body then red blood cells tend to retain their oxygen and not release it into your cells. This is called the Bohr-effect. When you get oxygen into your cells you have the possibility of making 18 times as much energy for every glucose molecule of ‘fuel’ you ‘burn’. The four simplest breathing exercises (apart from relaxed natural breathing) are as follows: *** 1. Inhalation emphasis breathing: make a really long slow inhale and then a short natural breath out. *** 2. Inhalation retention emphasis breathing: Make a gentle full breath in, and then hold your breath in as long as you comfortably can, and then a short natural breath out. *** 3. Exhalation emphasis breathing: Make a gentle full breath in, and then breathe out as slowly as possible for as long as it is comfortably possible. *** 4. Exhalation retention emphasis breathing: Make a gentle full breath in over 3-5 seconds, then a short full breath out about the same length, and then hold your breath out as long as you comfortably can. This practice is designed to give you the energetic benefits of breathing exercises by building up carbon dioxide. Increasing carbon dioxide in your body with these exercises will: *** Bring more blood to your brain and heart (vasodilation) *** Allow more oxygen to enter your body via your lungs (bronchodilation) *** Increase oxygen uptake into your cells, which can increase your energy levels to 18 times as much *** Calm your nervous system and reduce stress Increase digestion of food by stimulating hydrochloric acid levels *** Reduce your appetite for heavy, processed and acidic food. These exercises are a simple effective way to increase your health and longevity, that we have successfully taught to thousands of people around the world over the last 30 years. You can find the rest of this course at http://simonborgolivier.com/breath-training-for-health-and-longevity/

Torley has his breath taken away by the TEControl USB-MIDI Breath Controller, buy it here: » http://bit.ly/V5ONOf Want more Torley music? » http://torley.com ▓▒░ OFFICIAL BLURB ░▒▓ We have received numerous requests from musicians and composers to develop a replacement for Yamaha's breath controller BC3A.   The result is the MIDI Breath Controller, which has the same function as a combination of the BC3A and the "MIDI solution" converter box but with a USB interface instead of the older standard DIN connector.   The MIDI Breath Controller uses a novel signal processing algorithm to transform the breath pressure signal to MIDI cc messages that let you add realistic expression to your performance.  This is extremely useful for live performance with synthesizers and DAW's. It gives you excellent control of pitch, expression, velocity cross-fade etc... of soft synths and sample libraries ▓▒░ FEATURED VIRTUAL INSTRUMENTS ░▒▓ • Reaktor Silverwood by Chet Singer - http://bit.ly/WflEBE • Spectrasonics Omnisphere - http://bit.ly/WflH0f • Albion Spitfire - http://bit.ly/WflF8B • Reaktor Lazerbass - http://bit.ly/WflHgT • Wallander Instruments Demo - http://bit.ly/WflIRS

GOOD NEWS: I made TWITTER!!! Add me at @fanmy_sm(I follow back :P)!!! Regarding to the video, don't even bring me as an example Whitney. I know that she was ONCE when she lived but not now. In this generation Demi is the only one who has the potential to become (if she isn't yet) master of that sector!! Also, I want to mention that I didn't count the note but the space between her breath and the last word. What do you say? Isn't she amazing??!! |SUBSCRIBE| VIDEOS TO WATCH: ▪ What If Ariana Grande hit Demi Lovato's notes: https://youtu.be/OvM9Ub7Pkrk ----------- ▪ Demi Lovato vs Selena Gomez: https://youtu.be/nrtEwhSOs2s

Dominic from http://dominiccolenso.com here and in this video I want to share with you some breathing exercises for confident public speaking. The simple breathing exercise I share in this video will help you to calm yourself down before a presentation. What you are actually doing is lowering your cortisol levels (your stress hormone) and at the same time increasing your testosterone levels (your confidence hormone) so it’s an absolute win-win! I hope that you find my breathing exercise for confident public speaking useful. Please share your comments with me in the box below and I'd love to hear about any other tricks that work for you. Keep shining (and breathing)! Dominic WEBSITE: http://dominiccolenso.com BLOG: http://www.inflowtraining.com/blog/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/dominiccolenso

From American Sniper (2014). I do not claim any of the rights to this video at all. This scene offers a brief look at the importance of breath control as it is taught to the SEALs. They use it to ensure peak performance in the most stressful situations. ”Feel the breath filling every cell in your body. This is our ritual. We master our breath, we master our mind. Pulling the trigger will become an unconscious effort. We will be aware of it, but not directing it. And as you exhale, you’ll find your natural respiratory pause and the space between heart beats”.
